This exclusive collection of signature scents with couture sensibility truly encapsulates the Yves Saint Laurent style and spirit. 

Le Vestiaire Des Parfums – Capeline

Throughout his career, Yves Saint Laurent would play on the paradox of the capeline hat: a nonchalant way of going incognito that is also the most spectacular of accessories. Worn since the Middle Ages to provide protection against the sun, the wide-brimmed hat sailed from catwalks and garden parties to the glamorous haunts of chic Bohemians in the 1960s. The capeline crowns a sleek silhouette like a flower on a stem.

To translate the capeline's unique sensuality and nonchalance into a fragrance, YSL Beauty chose an iconic flower: the lily. Its majestic bloom could inspire the form of an extravagant capeline, and its name in French - Lys - forms the anagram of the couturier's initials. No wonder the flower was Yves Saint Laurent's emblem, and even in his absence, every one of his houses were filled with sprigs of Casablanca lilies.

As golden as the flower’s pollen, juicy mandarin and bergamot essence spill their sunlight in the first, soaring notes of the scent. Then, like the mysterious yet dramatic capeline, the lily reveals its dual nature. Highlighted by sparkling neroli, the freshness of its silky petals is brought out by a lick of salty sea spray and a haze of white musks. But as you brush against its pure white corolla, you discover that this stately beauty hides a deeper current of hidden sensuality of the chic Parisienne… Fleshing out the more carnal facets of the lily accord, honeyed orange blossom absolute blends with ylang-ylang – an exotic bloom from the Indian Ocean whose solar, spicy facets hint at the sweetness of vanilla… In CAPELINE, the scent of the precious black pod is the other star player.
